ORA News/Deadlines - November 6, 2017

SCOPUS Training and Science Direct Overview (Tulsa Disregard)

The OUHSC Bird Health Sciences Library will offer SCOPUS training for the OUHSC campus,

Wednesday, November 15, 2017.  Schusterman Library will hold training on November 14th and

will provide information for the Tulsa campus.

What is Scopus?

Delivering a comprehensive overview of the world's research output in  the fields of science,

technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities, Scopus features smart tools to

track, analyze and  visualize research.

What is ScienceDirect?

A large number of journal titles to which the OUHSC library subscribes are accessed from this

Elsevier platform.  ScienceDirect also features sophisticated search and retrieval tools that make

it easy to discover more relevant journal articles and book chapters.

Portia Dove, Consumer Consultant with Elsevier, Inc. will be the presenter for the Introduction to

SCOPUS and the ScienceDirect Overview.  The scheduled sessions will be held in the Library

Auditorium, Rm.299.

Description: THE ANNUAL CANCER RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM is an annual one-day research

Event: Emerging Nanotechnology & Drug Delivery Applications in Cancer (END2CANCER)

Description: The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Stephenson Cancer Center

are proud to host “END2CANCER: Emerging Nanotechnology and Drug Delivery Applications for

Cancer” conference from December 14-15, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. The focus of

the two-day conference is to bridge laboratory research conducted in the areas of nanotechnology

and drug delivery to clinical application for the detection, diagnosis, imaging, and treatment of cancer.

The conference will bring together leaders in the field who will discuss new and emerging concepts

and technologies and challenges in clinical advancement. Topics in modulating the tumor

microenvironment and harnessing the immune system for improved drug delivery and therapy will

also be covered in planned thematic sessions. Finally, funding opportunities for cancer nanomedicine

from the National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health will be presented.
