Human Subjects System Launches June 9

On Saturday, June 9, 2018, eRA is launching the Human Subjects System (HSS).  This system

will replace the Inclusion Management System (IMS), which is being retired on the same day.

HSS is a shared system that will enable grant applicants and recipients to electronically report

and update their data on human subjects and clinical trials to NIH; and NIH agency staff to monitor

and manage the data.  eRA plans to migrate enrollment records currently in IMS to HSS before the

launch. However,

incomplete records will not be migrated.

Note that if an RPPR is in progress on or before June 8, inclusion data cannot be submitted

separately in IMS on or before June 8.

  • In this situation, the entire RPPR must be submitted on or before June 8, or
  • If the RPPR is submitted on or after June 9, any study data entered on or before June 8

in IMS must be reentered in HSS

If inclusion data has not been completed in IMS on or before June 8:

  • PI will need to reenter the inclusion data in HSS on or after June 9.

For more information on this transition, please go to:

  1. REMINDER: The IRB In-House Program has been eliminated as a separate training

requirement.  All future IRB Program dates have been canceled.
Two new modules containing local context information such as OUHSC-specific requirements and

the Written Attestation have been incorporated into OUHSC’s CITI training for Groups 1, 2, and 3.

All [new & current] OUHSC faculty and staff engaged in human subjects research will complete the

new modules with their respective CITI Basic & Refresher Courses. Additional information can be

found on the Education page of the HRPP website.

Workshop on EEG FrequencyTtagging Paradigms in Visual and Cognitive Neuroscience

University of Nevada, Reno, September 24-27

Workshop website: https://sites.google.com/view/eegworkshop2018/home

Summary: The COBRE for Integrative Neuroscience at the University of Nevada, Reno is hosting a

3.5-day workshop on steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEP) at the University of Nevada, Reno

from September 24-27. The SSVEP paradigm provides a highly efficient and sensitive noninvasive

measure for recording stimulus-driven neural activity, and is becoming an increasingly important tool in

sensory and cognitive neuroscience. The workshop will cover core principles and applications of SSVEPs

and how to measure and interpret them, and will be led by a number of pioneers in the field.

Participation: Space is limited to 60 participants and requires an application submitted before June 30.

We are reserving a limited number of positions for IDEA-funded investigators and core directors or their

teams, which will include free registration and travel support. To be considered please include a statement

in the application noting the IDEA-affiliation. We hope you will encourage your members to attend.

Adjoining conference: The workshop will immediately follow the Optical Society of America Fall Vision

Meeting, which will also be hosted by the COBRE for Integrative Neuroscience at UNR on September 20-23.

This is a high-quality, low-cost conference focused on both basic and clinical vision science and visual

neuroscience. We hope those with interests in visual function will also attend the conference.

Details are available at: www.osavisionmeeting.org/2018/conf/
