Research E-Newsletter Call for Contributions

The OUHSC Office of the Vice President for Research would like to invite you to submit either

your work or that of your peers, staff, and/or students to be included in the quarterly research

e-newsletter.  The purpose of the e-newsletter is to provide information concerning the important

and exciting research and scholarly work being conducted by our OUHSC faculty, students, and


Please send a brief synopsis of the research that was conducted or published between February

1, 2017 and August 31, 2017 and any accompanying figure/image/graph.  The deadline to submit

information is Tuesday, September 26, 2017, to Samantha Skrepnek

(  Information included in the newsletter will be at the discretion

of the Vice President for Research.

Categories of work to be highlighted may include, but are not limited to, the following:

1.      Research Award Highlights (e.g., significant awards received);

2.      Research Achievement Highlights (e.g., important activities and achievements of OUHSC

         faculty and others, news/appointments to prestigious leadership positions/committees);

3.      Research Publication Highlights (e.g., publications in top tier journals/books/reports);

4.      New Research Faculty Introductions;

5.      Student and Fellow Recognition (e.g., poster presentation awards and podium presentations

         at national meetings); and

6.      Technology Development (e.g., patents, spin-off companies/corporate collaborations,

OU Growth Fund Application Now Available – Receive up to $75,000

The University of Oklahoma Office of Technology Development is now accepting applications for

the Growth Fund, which helps to strengthen the commercial potential of disclosed University of

Oklahoma innovations. The program’s purpose is to move inventions closer to the market,

including providing for prototypes, additional research results, and/or “gap” funding to keep a

program in place during transition. Recipients from the OU Health Sciences Center can receive

up to $75,000 in Growth Funds. The application and more details are available at are due by Sunday, September 24. Please contact Annie

The abstract submission deadline for the HHDC 2017 Research Symposium is Friday, September 29th

Abstracts must be received by 5 p.m. HHDC 2017 Research Symposium will be held on Friday,

Parexel is looking for Principal Investigators to participate in the following clinical studies.

                        A new phase II clinical study with Olaparib, AZD6738 and AZD1775, for patients with                              

                          metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) performed by AstraZeneca AB

  • 106671 Janssen MDD trial opportunity

Indication: treatment resistant depression (TRD)

  • Pediatric Epilepsy Study Feasibility/Patient Burden Analysis Survey

The study will be recruiting patients aged between 2 months and 4 years with partial       

onset seizures. At least once during the study the patient will also be required to

participate in 36 hour video EEG.
