NeuroMAP (CoBRE) Pilot Project Program Announcement (Year2) The Laureate Institute for Brain Research (LIBR) is soliciting applications for the Pilot Project Program funded by its NeuroMAP CoBRE. The goals of the Pilot Project Program are (1) To provide a process for young investigators to utilize data collected by NeuroMAP investigators to conduct secondary analyses, which may provide sufficiently strong results to warrant consideration of a young investigator to replace a NeuroMAP investigator in those outcomes outlined above. (2) To provide the ability to examine highly novel and yet under-developed hypotheses that may lead to new CoBRE projects in the future. (3) To enable computational and statistical experts to mine the data collected to develop better risk and outcome prediction approaches.
Deadline: May 15, 2018
Funding: July 1, 2018
Total Costs: $25,000

OFFICE OF TECHOLOGY DEVELOPMENT CALL FOR MARKETING ABSTRACTS:
Representatives from OTD will be highlighting OU life sciences research at the BIO International Convention in June. This is an opportunity to provide information about OU inventions and unique resources (e.g., antibodies, assays/kits, cell lines, plasmids, reagents) you think may have commercial value. This is also an opportunity to receive feedback from major industry players that can help support the commercial value of your research and guide research in a marketable direction. If you are interested in having your research or specialized materials profiled at BIO, please contact Meredith Wilkerson, OTD Technology Development Associate: Meredith-Wilkerson@OUHSC.edu, no later than April 15th for more details.

Mitochondria and Metabolic Regulation Research Retreat
Increasingly, our projects in cancer, immunology, diabetes, aging, neuroscience and cardiovascular disease are leading us to the mitochondria. By cutting across disciplines, we have an opportunity to build new teams to create innovative research focused on mitochondria and their role in human disease. To begin this process we are organizing a 1-day retreat to begin the conversation.
We are calling on scientists and trainees on all levels to participate in a University-wide day long Research Retreat on April 20, 2018 at the Nicholson Conference Center. The purpose of this retreat is to share our expertise in mitochondrial function and to help newcomers to the field refine their research.
We are calling for speakers with expertise in mitochondria to give a brief, 15 minute overview of their approaches to mitochondrial and metabolism research.
We are calling for scientists and trainees eager to learn about mitochondrial and metabolic regulation to plan to attend to retreat. Following the brief presentations, we will have time for people to meet and mingle to share ideas and plan projects. Please contact Ann Louise Olson (email@example.com) by March 30, 2018 if you would like to present or would like to attend.
