Staff Editor

Ms. Kathy Kyler is the VPR staff editor. Ms. Kyler has a MS in Clinical Psychology and a MA in Administrative Leadership. She has extensive experience in writing, preparation, editing and management of grants and contracts.  She has an extensive background in compliance and patient privacy issues including protocol development, informed consent and HIPAA authorizations and she has completed IRB submissions, revisions and renewals.

Her expertise spans various aspects of grant preparation, processing and compliance. She provided instruction and guidance to department administrators, faculty and graduate students regarding clinical research issues and institutional requirements. She has reviewed grants for compliance and continuity over a wide array of legal, budgetary and scientific issues.  Since 2009 she has been at OUHSC, involved in grant writing, manuscript preparation, and editing and preparing presentations for posters.

Editorial Review of Scientific Communications

Kathy is available for one-on-one consultation in the preparation of grant proposals, peer-review manuscripts, abstracts, book chapters, journal supplements, and poster presentations.

All projects are edited for clarity, logic, structural organization, consistency, grammar, spelling, style and adherence to the funding agency or journal requirements.

In general, turnaround time is 7 business days for manuscripts and 5 business days for grant proposals of 12 pages or less for the research plan.

Multi-investigator, training and program project proposals require a longer time for editing. Contact Kathy early in your grant writing process to ensure adequate time is made available for reviewing these projects.
