Proposal Development

The resources listed below explain the key considerations for proposal development and provide useful information and tools for proposal development and submission.  In addition to these resources, through a new partnership with Hanover Research, OUHSC now has access to expert research grant and contract writing/revision, strategic advising, and education and training which is available to OUHSC faculty at no cost to the college or department. Hanover Research provides customized proposal development, revision, and feedback, and provides assistance in identifying potential sources of funding for a project.
 
Application Types Eligible to Use Hanover Research Grant Writing Services
Priority will be given by the Research Strategic Planning and Oversight Committee (RSPOC) to NIH R-type proposals, large federal grant proposals (e.g., HRSA, AHRQ, SAMSHA, DoD, etc.) and NIH contracts.Other types of grant proposals/contracts will be considered by the RSPOC for development by Hanover Research on a case-by-case basis.Internal grant applications are not allowed currently.
 

Requesting Grant Writing Services
The faculty member should contact the Associate Dean for Research (ADR) for their college as indicated below.Faculty on the OU Tulsa campus should contact the Assistant Vice President for Research (AVPR).The ADR / AVPR will then present the proposal to the Office of the Vice President for Research and the RSPOC committee for consideration.

Timeline for Using Hanover Research Grant Writing Services
Hanover Research can provide assistance for approximately 10 applications per year depending on sponsor deadlines.Selected proposals must be in draft stage at least 30 days prior to the sponsor deadline.Hanover Research will provide written feedback, edits, and a debriefing phone call (if needed by the PI).Hanover Research will also provide consult calls to discuss strategic questions.
