NIH Sample Grant Applications, Summary Statements, and More



The CMS Open Payments team has asked that we remind you that the review and dispute period for Program Year 2018 ends May 15, 2019. While participation in the review, dispute, and correction process is voluntary, it gives physicians and teaching hospitals the opportunity to review the reported payments or other transfers of value from manufacturers before publication on the Open Payments  website on or by June 30, 2019. Please keep in mind that registration ( in the Open Payments system is required to participate in review and dispute activities, and disputes must be initiated by May 15 in order to be reflected in the June data publication. The Open Payments team in consultation with AAMC staff and FOCI Steering Committee, have developed educational resources for use at your institutions – one with information to educate physicians about the Open Payments program and another for authorized representatives of teaching hospitals. These materials along with additional resources can be found on the AAMC’s Open Payments (webpage If you would like to share your comments about how these resources could be enhanced or have feedback about the Open Payments system, please click here: Your input will be shared anonymously with the Open Payments team.

Office of Technology Development presents the following opportunities to engage with industry (for additional information go to: or email for specific submission details): GSK is looking for academic expertise and new ideas for an R&D partnership related to “at home diagnostic technologies to enable self-care” (expiration 5/24/19). Takeda is looking to foster partnerships with academic researchers with access to cell-based phenotypic assays related to gastroenterology, neuroimmunology, or neuroscience (up to $15,000 available for project costs | expiration 6/7/2019).

For applications requesting $500,000 or more direct costs for any year, applicants must seek agreement to accept assignment from Institute/Center staff at least 6 weeks prior to the anticipated submission of any application. See

NIH/NIGMS IDeA Central Region Conference – Registration deadline May 15!

The 2019 IDeA Central Region Conference will be held June 12 - 14, 2019 at the Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel.  The conference will highlight IDeA research programs (COBRE, INBRE, IDeA-CTR, STTR and ISPCTN) and will feature thematic breakout sessions, a poster session for both faculty and students, student research presentations, NIH program officers, and opportunities for networking and collaboration.  Faculty and students are invited to attend.  The IDeA central region states include Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.

University of Oklahoma is hosting the national Small Business Administration SBIR Road Tour on May 20th at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. While this event is focused on the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR/STTR) program, there will be a lot of opportunity for one-on-one meetings with different
