Resources Statement

  • The LMBCR Mass Spec/Proteomics division houses two different mass spec instruments utilized for biomolecule and small molecule mass spectrometry. The core is equipped with a Thermo Orbitrap Fusion Lumos Tribrid Mass Spectrometer coupled to a Ultimate 3000 RSLCnano UPLC (Thermo) for proteomics studies and a Thermo Quantis triple quadrupole mass spectrometer coupled to an Ultimate 3000 UV-Vis HPLC (Thermo) for targeted proteomics and small molecule quantification. Other proteomic related equipment includes an AKTA Prime Plus for lab-scale chromatography. Data acquisition/analysis is conducted with Xcalibur, Sequest, MaxQuant, and Proteome Discoverer.
  • The LMBCR Genomics division provides the following services: library building and high throughput sequencing for 10X Genomics Single Cell, 10X Visium Spatial Profiling (including for FFPE samples) with CytAssist abilities, RNA-Seq, 16S Metagenomics, small genome resequencing, de novo sequencing, and small RNA profiling, all sequenced on Illumina NextSeq 2000 and MiSeq; SeqStudio capillary (ThermoFisher) sequencer for smaller, custom sequencing projects for plasmids, PCRs and microsatellite samples; Nanostring nCounter MAX platform for examination of multiple pathways using the Nanostring RNA, DNA, and protein profiling panels; BioRad CFX96 Real-Time Machine; NanoDrop ND-1000 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer and Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer for RNA and DNA sample QC; and a Covaris sonicator that can be integrated into protocols.
  • The LMBCR Flow and Imaging division has state of the art equipment for flow cytometry, cell sorting, confocal microscopy, and video microscopy. Flow Cytometry instrumentation include an ImageStream, Stratedigm S1400Exi, Stratedigm S1200Ex, and FACSCalibur flow cytometers, FACSAria Fusion and FACSJazz cell sorters. Microscopy instrumentation include a Leica SP2 and SP8 confocal microscopes, a Nikon TE20000 microscope. The lab also has a Bio-Plex 200 Luminex system.
